Werner

Werner loved his daily sausages
a Wurst a day
keeps the devil away
he said.

In his life he had already swallowed 4928871 beers
and 3877470 Würstchen.

On his next one he choked and died.

Shaped as a whale, stranded on the toilet seat.

2 months...

una envoltura de sobado abstrahida

sorry for the delay, meanwhile i can walk again! two weeks in Barcelona, lots of visits from and to friends i cherish very much, museums, galleries, exhibitions, and learning from everywhere i can. that about sums up these last two months a little.

for the photography friends I've stumbled upon a new kind of picture trimmer/ expander/ (de)former/ etc. it's name is the resizer and the logo below is a link to its page where one can directly edit pictures, try it out.

i'll be back a little sooner next time, i promise....time flies by....

3 weeks

it's been 3 weeks since the surgery and i feel much better. these last days my main activity was selecting images out of my humongous archive for my future website. while i was on the search for them i found following video:

we were in a car like the one being pushed and had to cross part of a river that you normally cross with help of a bridge. the bridge was shredded at that time due to a landslide so we had no other choice, PUSH US DREDGER!

Cechov & Köln

Yesterday I was at a great theater performance of the Acting School of Hamburg, they played several different Cechov scenes. I hadn't been at a theater for a pretty long time, so it was a very productive experience for me. Lots of exagerations, dramatic and absurd scenes of over 100 years ago which proved that humans have hardly changed and probably will not.

This weekend I'm off to Köln (Cologne) to visit friends and probably some museums too. Last time I was there I took this picture:

it represents society in a way

Wilhelmsburg through the cookie can #2

These pictures were taken about half a year ago with the little snow that fell (except the first one) in Wilhelmsburg, south of Hamburg. I just scanned them, that's why I'm putting them on the blog now. Well, I'm off to Kiel, enjoy your weekend!

boycott and a couple of artists

hi, sorry for the 2 weeks pause. i've been a little busy with the amazing weather, we had 28°C and no clouds and that's something you have to enjoy, specially here in hamburg.

at our art school we have decided to boycott the semester fees, the german regime decided to introduce, because they are unsocial and will most probably rise and rise. for more information go to http://www.hfbk.de

some artists i've found (and refound) i would like to share with you are:
  • roger ballen north american photographer living in south africa
and to end today's post one of my pictures related to our wonderful supervising system, what would we do without it? probably the same, so please don't let them bother you. but remember, big brother is watching you... it's amazing how some are frightened (of what i don't know) more and more, day by day. don't let insecurity get too far in your vains.

Wilhelmsburg through the cookie can

These are some camera obscura (pinhole) photographs i took this winter. The picture has a black round border which is created, because the hole is pretty close to the photographic paper which creates a wide angle.

There are more to come of the summer of course.

dead hedgehog

road kill, it must have been squished quite violently। one half of the body connected with the other by its snout.
check out the body liquids stain.

that's one of the destinies animals have in cities or close to us

Queen's Day, Amsterdam

it was crazy, the biggest street party i've after the world cup here in germany and after the street parade in zürich.
on april 30th at least a million people celebrating queen beatrix' birthday in diferent parts of the city. all in all amsterdam is very nice, lots of small streets and canals, lots of bikes and nature. water is always a great element to have close.

haus der photographie

every two weeks on thursday we have a class with a photography professor of our art school and a curator of a pretty big photography museum of hamburg. the subject is self perception and extern perception of student's projects.
outside, workers were patching the floor with tar squares which was a little noisy but a nice photographic subject, i just love smoke and fog.

Kreuzbandriss

Hi everybody,

this blog is my new experiment for creating a little more pressure creating, if you know what i mean. i'm studying visual communication, putting emphasis on photography but of course also interested in cinema and graphics. It might evolve into a mix between a journal and a place to show my work.

about two weeks ago i ruptured my knee's anterior cruciate ligament and will require a total knee reconstruction. the operation will take place in a month and i will be able to use it as i used to use it six months later, this means that the summer is not going to be taken advantage of as it should but that's life and i have to go through it...with crutches.

the picture is an animation of my knee's RMI at the crucial spot.

thank you and good bye
